Texas Cares Rx works with a wide variety of organizations across Texas to build a network of volunteers, called Navigators, to help Texans apply to patient assistance programs (PAPs). Navigators are trained and supported by the Texas Cares Rx program to help reduce paperwork and make the application process faster and easier.

By partnering with groups working in their community and using software that streamlines the application process, the Texas Cares Rx program links people to PAPs where they can get prescription medications at no-cost or low-cost.

Texas Cares Rx was established by House Bill (H.B.) 18, 87th Regular Session, 2021, to improve accessibility to prescription drugs for Texans.
